A Legacy Society recognizes and honors donors for their commitment to our community. To become a member of the Taos Community Foundation Legacy Society, Plaza de Legado, donors designate a charitable gift to the community through the Community Foundation in their will or estate and are willing to make the commitment publicly as an example to others.
Too often, these kinds of gifts are unrecognized because they only become active at the end of donors' lives. Plaza de Legado provides a way for us to recognize and thank donors during their lifetimes as well as involve committed donors in the work and events of the Community Foundation.
Committed donors need only make a statement of establishment or intent to leave a gift to the Foundation in their estate plan. No documentation, amount or type of gift is required. Members can be anonymous if they so desire, however, participation in Plaza de Legado can be an inspirational experience, and may encourage others to look toward the future and how they too may have an enduring impact on the causes they care about.
Plaza de Legado members receive all foundation publications and program notifications and are recognized in the Annual Report (unless anonymity is requested).
Every Plaza de Legado member shares the vision of successful and healthy community, but every act of giving is personal and unique. Contact us to discuss your preferences.
